SEAQUAL™ yarn is a high-quality yarn made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. It contains about 10% SEAQUAL™ marine plastic, which is made from marine litter collected during ocean cleanup efforts facilitated by the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE. The yarn is available in different sizes and finishes, and used in a variety of applications.

By current estimates, nearly 70% of all plastic bottles wind up polluting the ocean. SEAQUAL™ converts plastic bottles that are either recovered from the ocean or are destined to wind up there.

Next step? Creating high-quality, sustainable fabrics from SEAQUAL™ yarn: highly durable, hygienic, soft fabrics that are ideal for the production of mattresses. 

Recognizing the utility of this innovative material, Beautyrest® has partnered with SEAQUAL™ to produce mattresses that are partially constructed with SEAQUAL™ Fabric. The result is a line of mattresses that not only meet the discerning standards of Beautyrest® and their loyal customers, but helps clean the ocean.

Each mattress uses the approximate equivalent of 50 plastic bottles, resulting in millions of bottles being removed from the ocean every year.

It’s important to note that only part of the mattress is made from SEAQUAL™ Fabric, which rivals other mattress fabrics. The comfort of a mattress is the result of the materials, the construction, and your individual preferences. The sustainable mattresses we carry have extremely high customer satisfaction ratings.

No. Like most high-end mattresses, SEAQUAL™ fabric mattresses are designed to require little maintenance.
